BEACHES

Being on a barrier island on Florida's East Coast means lots of great Atlantic beaches. Favorites include Seaside Park and Main Beach Park for their easy parking and amenities.

BEAUTY

Lovingly restored historic architecture sits splendidly amid gentle sand dunes, broad beaches, and moss-draped live oaks. Sunsets over the Amelia River are stunning.

SHOPPING & LOCAL FAVORITES

Downtown Fernandina's Historic District is filled with charming boutiques, cozy bars, and family-friendly ice cream shops — perfect for a post-beach stroll or afternoon of meandering.

Off the beaten path, our favorite local surf shop, Driftwood Surf Shop, has been a longtime staple. For something a little unexpected, there’s the super cute Ash Street Cigar Parlor and the legendary charm of Florida’s oldest bar, The Palace Saloon. Near the Omni Resort, Marche Burette is a charming spot for a casual lunch — and don’t miss their killer mocha chip ice cream.

Flights

Airports

The most convenient airport to fly into is Jacksonville International Airport (JAX). From there, it’s approximately a 45-minute drive to the Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island. We recommend renting a car or using a ride-share service for a smooth and scenic trip up the coast.
